Under-Supported Missionary Project

Discipling
Discipling a new believer
As you know, the increases in the basic costs of housing, groceries, and gasoline has everyone thinking twice about spending. The same is true for our CrossWorld teams serving around the world. For many of them, skyrocketing costs and the low value of the dollar is resulting in a significant financial crunch.

In the midst of this pressure, God is using CrossWorld to bring his people to faith. Here are two quick snapshots from our Central Asia teams:

Team 1: "Matt" called me, and asked me if he could come over, and when he arrived, he had a large bandage covering one of his cheeks. When I asked him what had happened, he told me that it was a "gift from his family." His family has kicked him out of his house. He said that they had seen him, and grabbed him, and cut his cheek open with a knife, telling him that they were going to give him a scar, because he was shaming the family. He told me that when he went to the police afterward, and explained the situation, the policeman kicked him, and told him that if Matt was his son, he'd have killed him. Matt has been a follower of Jesus for just over a year, and he has had a terrible life. He feels like he is the only believer in this city, which isn't true...but right now he might as well be, since there is no way to get him into touch with others who are. I will be meeting with him more regularly.

Team 2: What the Lord did in two different villages was nothing short of incredible. They were able to show The Jesus Film at least twice. In the highest village, five people prayed to receive Christ. The team leader was quite emotional as he related the salvation of these five. One of the local pastors will return to the region soon to follow up on this village. Incredible medical needs will be addressed when some medical professionals go there in October.

That is the message of the cross, the hope of the world come to life. Pray for the wonderful gospel opportunities these new believers will have with the passengers and orphans in their care.

We want to bring all of our missionaries to full support so they each can focus on ministry. Please consider a special gift now to help close the gap for our Under Supported Missionary Fund.

The CrossWorld Challenge: One of the difficult aspects of missions is keeping each missionary and project funded. Our Under Supported Missionary Fund seeks to meet urgent short term needs and provide support and training to resolve long term issues. Your financial partnership helps us bring the message of the cross, the hope of the world by keeping missionaries on the field during temporary financial setbacks.
