Job creation and real economic business is one way we can "look with compassion on the crowds," meeting physical, social, and emotional needs - while proclaiming the gospel message.

At CrossWorld, we call it Business as Mission. Simply stated, it's doing real business integrated with real missions, and caring for the whole person.

Projects like water purification are relatively simple tasks in North America but require real innovation in regions that lack the resources and infrastructure we take for granted. A CrossWorld venture in Indonesia is using available resources to manufacture a water purifier that can be built and sold locally. The result: jobs, relationships, and opportunities to talk about Jesus as the Living Water.

This is a powerful metaphor come to life. And it is happening right now.

We need $96,000 to fund two years of planning and seed funding for targeted locations:

• $6,000 for air travel costs for CrossWorld staff to lead vision trips to Indonesia, the Balkans, Senegal, and India in 2008 [business volunteers pay their own way]
• $10,000 to start an East Asia publishing venture
• $10,000 for training, accountability, and seed capital for a micro enterprise in the Balkans
• $20,000 to purchase raw materials, transportation, and skills training in Central Asia #2
• $10,000 for research to develop an agricultural business in Senegal
• $40,000 acquiring a production facility and salary for business partner for one year for production implementation in Indonesia

We expect to send five more teams to five more locations over the next three years. Those plans depend on how we plan now.

Help us bring the message of the cross, the hope of the world to people living in limited access countries. Pray for men and women to go to the field and engage in entrepreneurial activities that create jobs and opportunities in the workplace.
