Next Step Weekends

A 44-hour Weekend of Missions Possibilities, Hopes, and Coaching

That feeling you get when you know that there is something ahead, but you don't know what. Just over the next hill . . . just over the horizon's edge . . . as you bob in the water, but can't see the shore on the other side.

Josh is taking an innovative "entrepreneurship" class. Ahead of him are an internship and another summer as youth director at his church.

He's been to Guatemala and Leipzig. While he has had his visions of wealth, he has also had stomach cramps thinking about two-car garages and balloon mortgages.

Jesus' directive to make the kingdom primary and let the basics of life fall in order, behind the King, is pretty clear to him. Is this the right track? What about taking it all overseas for Jesus? He wonders, "If so, what do I need to do next? Am I the man now and will I still be in a few years?"

Tammy and Ben have been involved in an urban ministry to children for two years. They have been surprised at the number of immigrants that are popping up across Minneapolis. They wonder if these kids would have had any chance to hear the gospel without coming to the United States. And they often talk to each other about it-"What if we were in Somalia or Mexico City?"

What if they wanted to go the distance, to one of those remote places where the gospel gets no voice? They wonder if God is pushing them further on. It's a lot to consider, and they aren't sure they know the options.

Keisha graduated as a civil engineer four years and three promotions ago. She is rising fast, but there is a big disconnect between her highly specialized, sometimes politicized, job with the interstate commission and her passion to share Christ.

Because of her responsibilities, it has even become tough to make the 9:00 pm Bible study she co-leads every Thursday night. At the same time, she has been a major catalyst in the young adult fellowship of almost 300 that meets as an extension of her church every Sunday afternoon.

"You know you have to make some hard choices. What is God calling you to?" Her own words have been bothering her since she stood up and challenged her peers last Sunday. Is he calling me to ministry? How do my unique skills and preparation fit?

Enter the Next Step weekend

This is not a weekend about jumping off a cliff or even onto a plane. It's about the next step God wants each of us to take.

Is God trying to get me to take a step towards Him? Maybe, probably.

Each of us has had to think through and figure out how we fit, what we can do, what we are good at, what not to do, what to develop, how to grow - how to make a Jesus-following difference.

CrossWorld is a family of missionary mentors, helping you ask questions, pray well, and choose to follow him.

Why does CrossWorld do this? It's our job. We are a missionary force of 350, all over the world. But we are also a community of disciples who feel obligated and privileged to welcome any who are grappling with the many questions involved in going out with the gospel.

CrossWorld's NextStep Weekend of Missions Possibilities, Hopes, and Coaching.

Help us bring 'the message of the cross, the hope of the world' to unreached people. Pray for the role our Next Step weekends play in the decisions men and women are making about investing their lives in gospel work.

And give a financial gift to help meet the $50,000 annual cost to keep our mentoring current and relevant.

Goal: $50,000
